Interesting Facts about "Aisle to Aisle"
- Kevin O'Neill brought the idea of the short film to the attention of
- Eric and Chad while in production of "Halfway Point".
- The main characters, "Rob and Amber", are never spoken or referenced to. They're strickly there to make it easier for the crew.
- "Rob" and "Amber" were named by Eric. He is a HUGE fan of the TV show Survivor so the characters are named after Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich. Eric met Amber when the Survivors visited Omaha in the summer of 2003.
- A car was originally scripted to be in the film before Elon let us know he just bought a motorcycle.
- Four grocery stores in four different towns were considered and contacted before one was finally chosen.
- Kevin's mom made two breakfast bar labels and one home pregancy test label special for this film.
- In a scene between Amber and her ex, the two actors didn't rehearse it before shooting. This was done to get a natural reaction out of Amber.
- Just after the motorcycle scene, it started pouring very hard.
- The film will be in black & white, color, and sepia.
- Kevin and Chad really had to go the extra mile to clean their respective apartments.
- A bottle shattered on Chad's bathroom floor for a scene, no one was hurt and so far Chad hasn't been cut.
- The tab at Scooter's for the first cast meeting was $15.
- Eric & Chad have cameos in the film as a checker and sacker. Chad has worked at two grocery stores, so he has experience sacking.
- Adam A. Koch (the webmaster), his wife Christi and his unborn child are customers in one grocery store scene.
- A scene where the main chracter, Rob is left standing is a tribute to Chad's upcoming novel, "Left Standing".
- Ben Beck's dad was Kevin O'Neill's director for "The Sunshine Boys" at the Omaha Community Playhouse.
- The piano for the film was composed after the composer Leland watched it twice
- Since this is a silent film the actors playing Rob and Amber were discussing peanut butter and jelly while shooting the scene on the bridge in the Gene Lehey Mall
- The grocery store scenes were shot during store hours.
- Most of the store customers and employees are actually that of Dick's Hillrise Market.
- The film took third place at the 2nd annual Hot Shops Film Festival in the category of non-academic:drama
